Tonight, I am still thankful we have a generator. We are lucky / fortunate / blessed that way.
Our electric has been out since yesterday afternoon. It probably won’t be back on until tomorrow night, from what I am able to see at DP&L’s status website.
Mental note for Polly. Call propane people first thing in the morning.
Ahh, but it hasn’t been all bad. Not at all. It is the first time I have been knocking around the house in shorts and a t-shirt all summer. Usually, we have the A/C on.
And I am perpetually cold. I don’t care for air conditioning, unless we are in the middle of hell in July. So today was kind of nice, to just be here in the house without my Parka and Ear Muffs. It got up to around 90 degrees here in Camden. Today it was the same inside, and out.
And. This afternoon we went down to Cincy. We were celebrating the 20th birthday of our oldest granddaughter. It was snappy nice. We all went to dinner at a high-in-the-sky steak place in Mount Adams. It was great to be with family tonight.
On the way home, we drove through another powerful storm. Cincinnati was getting a lot of rain, fast. Manhole covers were uplifted from the roads, rivers were flowing through the streets, and when we made it to the highway, it only got worse.
There was one area of construction that had semi-collapsed through mini-mudslide. One of those large walls they build along highways, had slid down the slope. It was a mess.
Thankful again. We made it home safe and sound.
I had hoped we would have a home powered by electric upon arrival. Another time, perhaps.
Hopefully, another time soon.
But maybe I can do something. I wonder if I would go out right now… and plant a light bulb in my garden….. I might be able to grow into a power plant?
Ahhhh. Probably not. I just need to chill out. I guess… maybe go meditate for a while. Speaking of which… do you know what do electricians chant when they meditate? …. ….. . .. .. . Ohm.
Okay. Enough of that. Let me leave on a good note. Some advice if you DO have to call an Electrician. Never, ever, trust one… with no eyebrows.
