I experienced a lot today. Both the very good, and the very difficult. That is true of most days, but sometimes it seems the pendulum swings a little wider. Today it swung far and wide.
Nonetheless. There was more good than anything. A lot of positives. Of those things, I was reminded of some incredibly good writings. One of those passages was from the Bible, specifically, Ecclesiastes 3.
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to scatter stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
What a thing to think about. The words in this passage.
And I believe it is true. That all the moments in the Universe have come unto this point in time. And I am exactly where I need to be right now. And you too, are in the moment where you are meant to be.
A time for everything.
There were moments today when I experience blistering pain. It was the time for that.
So tonight, after a nice hot shower, and settling into my jammy pants, I SO looked forward to just sitting in from of the TV and not thinking about anything but watching mindless television. It seemed, somehow, this would make it all feel better. It was time for this. To be at ease. I just wanted to find comfort.
And that is the exact moment when the electric went out in our household. And remains out.
A time for everything. We may not understand, but there is a time.
