See, what I am saying?

It depends on the day. Doesn’t it? This is very true for me.

Some days, it seems like there is no white bread. We simply can not find the Wonder.

And that is how it goes. No matter how hard we look, it is very difficult to see the marvel, the miracle, the phenomenon.

On the other hand, there are days like today. The wonder was everywhere for me. It was just as abundant as the all that rain we had, falling from the sky.

Up. Down. All around.

We can learn a few things from kids, I think. They approach just about everything with a sense of wonder. They view the whole world with a heightened level of excitement and seem less likely to judge. Kids focus on the possibility. The curiosity. Or maybe they don’t focus at all. They float.

Socrates said, “Wonder is the beginning of wisdom.” I believe Mr. Smarty Pants was on to something there.

Somehow, as adults, we lose our sense of wonder. We want to know what will happen. And when. And who, and how. All the details, lined up in a row. We suppose that knowing all these variables will somehow give us a sense of control over our lives. But there is not really any controlling outcomes.

Kids flutter. They move from this to that, without any real end in mind. But adults fixate on the “end” of things. The results. We focus so much on the outcome, that it causes us to miss the magic of life.

When we carry a sense of wonder with us, it truly means that we are opening up to a higher knowledge. It is something that is beyond the physical mind.

Socrates, again, said that wonder will bring us to wisdom. This path is fueled by our imagination. The higher mind. Our imaginations are the conduit to our higher selves.

So many of us have asked the question of our lives. Who am I, really? What am I doing here? What is my purpose?

I think the path to the answers comes through exploration. Envisioning. Seeking. Through imagining the possibilities. Seeing the wonder. Finding the place where our imagination touches our true selves. In that way, we begin to see. Like a child.

Einstein said some good things too. “The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.”

See the spark. Notice the goodness. Imagine the possibilities. Look for the magic. Feel the wonder.
