Tonight, our oldest grandson graduated from high school. Levi Elijah Moreland. He is quite a young man, and although I am a little biased, it is very true.
He is smart. Bright smart. And funny, and creative. Especially, he is caring and he is kind. This is just to name just a few of his qualities.
A lot of us showed up tonight, to watch the ceremony. And so he went, from being a student to an alumni. Just like that.
As I watched him on the stage, I saw the little newborn version of Lev, and the one that was just learning to walk. I saw him learning to swim in our pool, and I could see us standing in the creek, on a good hunt for rocks. So many scenes throughout the years.
One moment there, and I was seeing his little self. And just like that. There he was. Up there on the stage, accepting his diploma. A gallant young man.
Time is really something isn’t it? Literally, one minute it is here, and the next…. well …. it is gone and back again… at the very same time. Such an enigma.
Tonight I am grateful for time. On this night, I am grateful for all the moments I have shared with Levi. And his graduation, yet another.
Another reminder how thankful I am for all the people in my life, who mean so very much to me. I think it is a good thing to let people know we have gratitude for them.
So thank you. Each of you. For all the moments we have shared. Although they have elapsed, I still have the memories. More importantly, I hold this place, where you have touched my heart. And so I say thanks.
