Diver. Tick. You Light Us.

John Glenn died today.

I didn’t know the guy, personally.  But I thought as astronauts went, he was out of this world.  ….  …..  ..  Okay.  Sorry.

But I do think he was pretty cool.  Amazing Astronaut.  Pleasant Pioneer.    Glenn said this…..  of his trip in space: “I don’t know what you could say about a day in which you have seen four beautiful sunsets.”

Yep.

“Zero G and I feel fine.”

How cool is that?  How cool was he?  Drifting through space and feeling fine.

And then.  Back to my world.

Here lately, I’ve been feeling like I am in outer space.  Or maybe just some sort of torture chamber.  Or a combination of both.

Just to bring those of you up to date, who have been sending good wishes and questions ……  Today I had a comprehensive visit with my Family Physician, Dr. Tina-Awesome-Reichley.  She has determined that I have Diverticulitis.  The Big D.

Yep.  It is about as sick as I can remember being in quite some time.  Maybe ever.

Hopefully we are now on the right course of action.  If not… I have to go and buy a cat.  Or borrow one.

That would be the next step.  You see…. if I am not feeling better by Sunday, my doctor has scheduled a cat scan.  So.  I need a cat.  (Justin…. would Ashley be up for this?  Or Janet…. what about Gracie?)  Oh bother….. I’ll just go get one.

Conversely, if I get any worse, she is going to admit me to the hospital.

So… that’s the nutshell.

Which would make me the nut. Without a cat.  In outer space.

And so, we are back to Space.

John Glenn.  Moving through space at 17,000 miles per hour.  Four sunsets. One day.  Seeing the Amazing.

I bet you are really seeing the Universe now.  I bet it feels fine.

When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the universe.  –  John Muir
