Here is a little truth about me.
My mind wanders. Sometimes, it wanders so much… it leaves completely.
It also wonders. Its just how I am.
And today, I did quite a bit of both, wandering and wondering. About a lot of different things. For instance.
I’ve been thinking about how awesomely good our dogs are. We have always been lucky in the dog department. We’ve had some truly great Champion Mutts. They love us unconditionally.
Lately, caring for them has been a bit more of a challenge. They are getting older and forget things. Important things. Like the difference between the great outdoors, and the great indoors. But… we love them just the same. Things like this don’t matter when you love someone.
We don’t have cats anymore. We have had some great cats over the years. But we’ve had some doozies too.
I think if animals were writers… dogs would write a bunch of short stories. Cats… would probably pen poetry.
A cat poem for you now.
You. Sit. Stay. Worthless human.
Do this. Now.
Do this. Now.
Or. I’ll pee in your shoes.
Or. Worse.
Oh. I wonder about all sorts of things.
TV. It can be really great, or really bad. I guess that is true about most things. (Sidebar: I have yet to eat a BAD PB&J sandwich. I think those are always good.) And. It is fun to eat PB&Js when you are watching TV.
But. Back to good TV. I love it when someone is getting ready to do something absolutely and ambitiously crazy on TV. Like shooting an arrow through a PB&J sandwich on top of someone’s head. And then they say, in all earnestness and sincerity .. . …. “Kids. Don’t try this at home.”
I wonder how many tried that at home.
Okay. Well… here’s one thing you can try at home. It is Math. Some people are really good at math. Others… not so much. Admittedly, I am not the greatest mathematician. It seems I do okay… until the alphabet becomes involved. Once you started mixing the alphabet in with the numbers… things get wonky. Too many variables. Too many unknown quantities. Fluctuating, unstable, wavering, capricious, fickle, unpredictable. Numbers and Letters living together. Mass Hysteria. You do the math.
Oh yes. My mind it wanders. A little meandering does a girl good. And it wonders too. A little speculation… a little curiosity.
But I learn lessons from the Little Mind Wander & Wonder.
So as I close, the lessons for the day…
Dogs are good.
Cats, will retaliate. And then write a poem about it.
Don’t try this at home.
You do the math. It all comes full circle. So…. If you need some cheering up… have some Pi.
