As they say, get the ball rolling. And it rolls.

Why do we do what we do?

Einstein once said.
Wait.
Here it the thing about Einstein said. We can never be completely certain if he was saying the words he said, in context of science. Or something, completely, otherwise.

And on to what he said.

“Nothing happens until something moves.”

It is true. It’s true about science. And. If we look at ourselves, we always have a reason for moving in some direction. Let’s say you just cooked a Tuna Noodle Casserole. Most likely it happened because you were hungry. Or you had to fix dinner for a hungry family. Or, someone you know lost their pet parrot to a nasty case of Parrot Flu, and you are taking something over.

There’s a reason. Something moved, then something happened.

Going for a walk. The reason is to get exercise, or get out in nature, or perhaps you saw your neighbor bringing home a strange woman and you want to cruise by to get a better look.

There is always a why for what we do.

Sometimes, though, we say. “Gee. I don’t know why I did it!” As your husband lies on the floor with the broken vase right next to his head.

But something in us makes us tick. Most of the time, our intentions are straight forward, and good. Yet, all of us, at some point in our lives, may have acted in a way that we regretted. We may have even planned it that way, and we were sorry we did after. We might say something to get under someone’s else’s skin. Or we try to arrange circumstances so they will best fit our needs, rather than the needs of others. Maybe.

However, most of the people I know are on the up and up. They look for the right path. They steer the clear course. They are noble beings. Or, if they don’t have a male cow, they are “no-bull beings.” Or maybe, they can’t roll a heavy ball at ten pins, in which case they are “no-bowl beings.” Regardless. Noble beings.

There they are, and something happened because they moved.
Even if it was just to move their hand slightly and grasp the TV remote.

We do what we do for a reason.
Things change once we move.
A reason for change.
And so we go.

Go well today, as you move. Something will happen.
